An Educational
Partnership:
The Hoben Student Run Credit Union is operated as a partnership with
Community Financial. This program provides a hands-on application of many of the
skills that they are learning at school and helps students begin the financial
education they need to responsibly manage their personal finances in the future.
All Students can learn
to manage money:
All students in the third through fifth grade may open savings accounts
and participate on deposit days. By
saving their money, students are learning about responsibility, planning, and
delayed gratification. There are no
monthly fees for these accounts.
Fifth Grade students can
run the credit union:
Fifth grade students have the opportunity to volunteer to run the student
credit union. These students learn
valuable career and job skills. They
apply what they are learning in school to their positions and enhance their
leadership and cooperation skills as they help other students process their
transactions.
To join the credit
union: Complete a membership application found in the office or
