Program Information

For the sixth consecutive year Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. is offering a fully funded, two-week cultural/educational study program in Japan for 50 high school teachers. These teachers will be selected from eight states where Toyota operates major facilities - Alabama, California, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, and West Virginia -- and this year we are proud to include Texas, the site of Toyota's new Tundra pickup truck production plant.

In June 2004, the Toyota International Teacher Program will send 50 teachers to Japan to learn about its culture, history and education system, as well as its approach to issues such as technology and the environment. We are convinced that in today's global society, educators benefit enormously from this opportunity to expand their curriculum and enhance their teaching expertise through international study.

Toyota is proud of its commitment to education and has established several innovative programs - including grants for science and math teachers (Toyota TAPESTRY and Toyota TIME), scholarships for high school and college students, and family literacy centers.

Now you and your colleagues are invited to take advantage of this unique study abroad, administered by the nation's largest nonprofit exchange organization - the Institute of International Education in Washington, D.C. If you need additional applications or information, please e-mail: toyotateach@iie.org or call toll free (877) 832-2457.
